  THISbookisinthreeparts.Thefirsttwo,MissKeller'sstoryandtheextractsfromherletters,formacompleteaccountofherlifeasfarasshecangiveit.Muchofhereducationshecannotexplainherself,andsinceaknowledgeofthatisnecessarytoanunderstandingofwhatshehaswritten,itwasthoughtbesttosupplementherautobiographywiththereportsandlettersofherteacher,MissAnneMansfieldSullivan.TheadditionofafurtheraccountofMissKeller'spersonalityandachievementsmaybeunnecessary;yetitwillhelptomakeclearsomeofthetraitsofhercharacterandthenatureoftheworkwhichsheandherteacherhavedone.
